Coach Dennis Seifried
camp director
and sprints. As a member of the Oklahoma
Track Coaches “Hall of Fame”. Coach Seifried’s
teams are annually among the top teams in Class 4-A
with 8 state champion and state runner-up titles.
SPRINTS: camp training will include speed drills, use
of proper arm and knee actions, flexibility, proper
sprint
alignment, acceleration patterns, and how to use
starting
blocks. Relays and exchanges will be featured this
year.
Coach Mark Herd Shawnee High
School has one of the
best pole vault coaching records in Oklahoma history.
He has directed camps for the past 20 + years, His pole
vaulters have won state titles 15 of the past 20
years.
Camp will include technique enhancement through
a variety of learning modalities. Camper will learn
through a variety of drills, vault sessions, video
analysis,
and lecture. Athletes will benefit from the sequential
progression of the camp which makes allowance for
recovery and cognitive development.
Coach Chad Hutchison is the
head girls track and
field , cross country, and basketball coach at
Thomas High School. He has also coached at
Lomega and Weatherford High School. Over this
time, Coach Hutchison has coached 13 individual
state champions in Track & Field and Cross Country.
This includes a 4A state meet record in the high
jump at 6’10”. Coach Hutchison will work with
high jumpers on an 8 step approach, plus techniques
to improve their arch and maximize their jump.

Coach Tim Palesano
Weatherford High School.
Tim has been coach of the year in cross country
two times and part of many state track championships.
Coach Palesano has worked with long jumpers, coaching
two state champions in the event. Campers will
receive
tips on the different phase to the landing phase..
How to
determine length of approach and coaching marks will
be covered. Strength and conditioning workouts will
be
introduced.
Coach Brent Bell Weatherford
High School-shot –
has had 12 state champions and athletes in the
Southwest Track and Field Meet
He has lectured at many coaching clinics.
Coach Bell introdued the spin technique
in the shot in 1998. Athletes will learn the sequential
steps to the spin or glide action, proper steps, hip
shoulder placement as well as extension and release.
Coach Jim Coleman,
Watonga High School has coached
track and field and cross country at Watonga High
School from 1980-2009. His boys and girls teams have
won 20 State Championships, 18 State runner-ups, 51
Regional Championships, and 102 individual or relay
State Championships, including 8 in the 100/110 hurdles
and 7 in the 300 hurdle races. Hurdle camp will include
instruction on hurdling technique and training, sprint
mechanics and drills, stride patterns for 100/110/300
races, neuromuscular training drills to improve speed
and hurdle rhythm and video analysis of athletes events.
