1/ 22/05 Congratulations to the OTCA Cross Country Coaches of
the Year, Mike Stanton of Tulsa Union High School Girls and Allen
Palesano of Hydro-Eakly High School Boys.
11/13/04 The Arkansas-Oklahoma High School All-Stars Cross
Country Meet was held Saturday in Rogers, AR. The Oklahoma boys won 78-135
and the Oklahoma girls won 81-135. Ten runners from each state are scored.
Mustang OK soph Kevin Schwab (state 5A champ) remained
undefeated with a course record 15:39 for 5K. Tulsa Union OK jr Ina Ables
(state 5A champ) took the girls title in 15:34 for 4K.
Congratulations to the OTCA Track Coaches of the
Year, Sherry McCulley of Coalgate High School and Chris McGowan of
Tishomingo High School. Both coaches' schools won Track State
Championships this spring.
It is time to start putting the 2004 cross country
calendar together. Please send dates and information that needs to be

6/04/04 Teams competed in
Albuquerque, New Mexico at the Great Southwest Track and Field Classic. Results
5/08/04 Three State best performances or
records were turned in at the Regional competitions. Marcus Pugh of Jenks
set new standards in the 100m dash and 200 meter dash at Catoosa. His 10.37
(FAT) bettered the 10.39 set by Terrance Wakefield of Edmond North at the
1997 State Meet held at UCO. His 20.80 (FAT) in the 200 bettered the 21.03
set by Alan Brown of Norman High School at the 1990 State Meet at Norman.
Kellen Curry of Carl Albert turned in a 13.89 at the
Yukon Regional in the 110 High Hurdles. This was a hand-held time converted to the 13.89.
No wind readings were available from either site.
