Middle School Invitational Track Meet     

Saturday April 7, 2012

On behalf of the Lawton Public School System, we extend to you and your teams an invitation to participate in our Middle School girls and boys track and field meet. This event will be held on Saturday April 7, 2012 This will be a timed finals meet. Also, this meet will be limited to the first 14, 7^th Grade Boys, 7^th Grade Girls, 8^th Grade Boys, and 8^th Grade Girls Teams. Please call and confirm a place before coming.

Times: Coaches meeting . . . 9:00 am            Field Events. . . .  . 9:30 am

                                                                        Running Events. . . 10:00 am

Entry Fee: $75.00 for each boys and girls team. No “B” teams permitted.

Divisions: There will be four divisions: 7G, 7B, 8G, 8B.

Medals: Awarded to top three (3) places for individual events and top three (3) relay events in each division.

Plaques: Team plaques will be given to the Champion in each division

Limitations: Each contestant is limited to 4 events, including relays. Each school is limited to 3 contestants in each event and 1 relay team in each relay. You will get 3 throws in shot and discus and 3 jumps in all jumping/vaulting events.

Team Points: Awarded to 1^st—6^th places (10-8-6-4-2-1) in individual events; and (20-16-12-8-4-2) in the relays.

Equipment: Lawton will furnish starting blocks bring tennis balls for relay marks (no tape, please). We have a new seven lane all weather track which requires “1/4” spikes or smaller.

Concessions: Concession stand will be available.

Camps: Athletes/camps will be permitted in the area outside of the football field; athletes will not be permitted to “camp” on the field; after their event is over they must exit the track/field area.

Buses: Park buses in McMahon parking lot to the East of the track. Teams enter through northeast gate.
