43rd Arcadia High School Invitational

Arcadia, California, April 9–10—

Another highlight came in the boy’s decathlon, where Gunner Nixon (Santa Fe, Edmond, Oklahoma) and Kevin Lazas (Brentwood, Tennessee) dueled to the end. It came down to the 1500, where the Oklahoman prevailed by nearly 12 seconds. Their scores of 7573 and 7510 move them to Nos. 2 and 3 all-time behind Curtis Beach’s national record 7909.
